Horizontal sheers combine the softness of sheer fabric with adjustable vanes. They create a different effect from Roman folds or the alternating bands of a zebra shade. Are sheer shades a type of sheer curtain?+
Horizontal sheer shades use soft fabric vanes between sheer layers; sheer curtains are hanging fabric panels. Both soften daylight, but their operation and appearance differ. Compare horizontal sheers, sheer drapery and a separate room-darkening layer around your privacy needs.
Are horizontal sheers the same as zebra shades?+
No. Horizontal sheers use soft vanes between sheer layers. Zebra shades use alternating sheer and opaque bands. Compare the two samples to see their different movement and appearance.
Can horizontal sheers be motorized?+
Compatible systems can be motorized. We review the shade dimensions, motor, power and controls before confirming a configuration. The video illustrates a ShadeZone installation; compatibility is checked for your project.
Will sheer shades provide complete blackout?+
Do not assume a sheer treatment will make a room completely dark. Compare the selected fabric, closed vane position and edge gaps, and ask about a separate blackout layer where needed.
