CHOOSE THE LOOK

Texture with a purpose.

Fabric vanes

Textile weaves add softness and decorative texture. Compare sheer through room-darkening materials for the amount of light and privacy your room needs.

Sheer styles

A delicate fabric layer softens the vertical lines and creates a drapery-like appearance. Compare the open and closed effect with a sample.

Smooth crown vinyl

A gently curved vane with a simple surface. Consider it for a clean look and straightforward everyday care.

Embossed crown vinyl

Raised or pressed textures give vinyl more visual depth, including textile-inspired patterns. View a sample in both daylight and room lighting.

S-shaped vinyl

A sculpted profile creates a flowing, overlapping appearance. Ask about suitable colours and the closure effect for your opening.

THE DETAILS

A closer look.
A choice that fits.

The vane is the long strip that gives a vertical blind its texture, colour and light-filtering character. Compare a wipeable vinyl surface with softer fabric or a sheer-covered style. We plan your selection around the way the doorway is used, the room’s daylight and the finish you want to see across the whole opening.

Well suited to

Sliding patio doors, wide living-room windows and larger glazed openings in homes or offices. Consider where the vanes will gather and allow space for handles, furniture and everyday traffic.

MAKE IT YOURS

The options to consider.

01

Fabric, sheer or vinyl

Fabric brings textile softness; sheer styles create a lighter drapery-like effect; vinyl offers a practical surface for everyday care. Material, colour and light control should be selected together.

02

Rotate for privacy, draw for access

Adjust the vane angle to manage daylight and sightlines. Review wand operation and a left, right or split draw with ShadeZone. The stack needs space, so the layout should suit the active side of your door.

03

Coordinate the room

Use a consistent palette across a patio door and nearby windows. We can help compare complementary roller, pleated or other window coverings; an exact material match depends on the chosen collection.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your questions.
A little clarity.

Choosing between vertical blinds and panel tracks
Are vertical blinds suitable for sliding glass doors?+

Vertical blinds are a practical option for many sliding patio doors and wide windows. Tilt the vanes for daylight and privacy, then draw the treatment aside for access. We confirm stack direction, handle clearance and the fabric or vinyl vane finish. We supply new vertical blinds; we do not offer vertical blind repairs.

What is the difference between fabric and vinyl vanes?+

Fabric creates a softer textile finish and comes in different light-filtering weaves. Vinyl has a wipeable surface and can be smooth or embossed. Compare the actual sample for appearance, care and privacy.

Do vertical blinds provide blackout?+

Light control depends on the material, vane closure and installation. Even a room-darkening material can leave light at the edges or between vanes. We review the room’s requirements before recommending a treatment.

Are the pictured swatches available for my order?+

These are manufacturer reference swatches. ShadeZone confirms the current Canadian collection, material, colour and product compatibility before quoting. Screen colours are approximate; approve a physical sample before ordering.

How should I care for the vanes?+

Dust gently and follow the instructions for the specific material. Fabric and vinyl need different care; do not assume a fabric vane can be soaked or machine washed. Ask us for the care guide for your selection.

Do you repair existing vertical blinds?+

We do not service vertical blind repairs. We can help plan a replacement treatment. Older discontinued vanes or fabrics may not have a matching current option.

Should I compare panel tracks too?+

Yes. Vertical blinds use narrower vanes that tilt, while panel tracks move wider fabric panels sideways. Compare the view, privacy, stack space and door access before choosing.
